Supervision for Psychologists

Supervision is a space for reflection, learning and growth, intended for psychologists in clinical practice. More than case analysis, it aims to be a place of interpretation, feedback and critical thinking, where you can look at the therapeutic process, the therapist's role and the relational space built with each person you support.

Supervision is also a space for caring for the psychologist themselves: a time to refine your perspective, sustain your professional standing and reflect on your practice with depth and safety.

At each supervision session, clinical materials, instruments and resources may be shared to support the psychologist's professional and personal development, contributing to the therapist's ongoing growth as the agent of their own clinical practice.

Our clinical approach

Supervision is grounded in an Integrative Cognitive-Behavioural approach, drawing on third-generation models. This integrative perspective favours a comprehensive reading of human experience, bringing together empirical evidence with the relational and experiential dimension of the therapeutic process.

OPP accreditation: at the end of the process, a supervision certificate is issued in accordance with the criteria defined by the Portuguese Psychologists' Association (OPP), valid for access to the General Speciality in Clinical and Health Psychology.

Supervision formats

We offer the supervision process online, in the following formats:

Individual supervision

  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Focus: strictly personalised support for your clinical process and professional development.

Group supervision

  • Duration: 1h30 to 2h.
  • Size: up to 4 members, with the option of forming groups of just 2.
  • Focus: sharing experiences, broadening perspectives and developing a wider, more collaborative clinical perspective — a space of collective construction and joint reflection, where each therapist finds resonance and support in the others' journeys.

Frequently asked questions

I'm at the start of my clinical practice and feel unsure. Is individual or group supervision better for me?

Both have immense benefits at this stage. Individual supervision offers you an exclusive space focused on your most specific questions and on carefully designing your first interventions. Group supervision, on the other hand, helps demystify that initial insecurity as you hear the challenges of other colleagues, acting as a rich network of support and validation. Many professionals choose to begin individually and later move to the group (or vice versa).

How does case-sharing work online, while safeguarding patient confidentiality?

Confidentiality and ethics are the foundation of everything we do. When cases are shared online, all identifying patient data is fully removed. Personal details that could identify someone are never shared. We focus exclusively on the psychological dynamics, the cognitive processes, the emotions involved and the therapeutic relationship itself, maintaining the patient's absolute anonymity.

How can I propose a supervision group with a colleague?

If you have a fellow professional with whom you share a clinical affinity and you'd both like to do supervision together, we offer a flexible two-person group format. To go ahead, simply send us a message expressing that mutual interest. We'll assess your needs and design a schedule of sessions that fits your availability and professional rhythm.

Is supervision possible with larger groups (e.g. teams from institutions or clinics)?

Yes. Although our standard group supervision model favours groups of up to 4 members to ensure depth of discussion, we are fully available to consider requests from established teams, associations or health institutions. Upon your request, we'll assess your organisation's specific needs, the complexity of the cases and the institutional context to design a supervision format tailored to you. If this is your case, send us a message describing your situation.
